Sometimes I get so weird
I even freak myself out
To laugh myself to sleep
It’s my lullaby
Sometimes I drive so fast
Just to feel the danger
I wanna scream
It makes me feel alive
-Avril Lavigne, “Anything But Ordinary” [Let Go]
My name is Jiea (pronounced “Jee-yah”) Jennifer G. Dee, but my online identity revolves around the pen name Reika Lee. It is actually my Chinese name, Li Lee Hua, read in Japanese. I retained the Chinese surname though. I’m no die-hard Japanophile by the way.
Seeing from my surname, I’m apparently half-Chinese. Some say it’s in my features (I was mistaken a Korean and even a Japanese many many times!) although I wouldn’t necessarily call myself a Chinita. I do know a handful of Mandarin though. I studied in Chinese schools during my Kindergarten, Elementary and High School years. Learning Chinese (especially written) won’t be that of a problem! =)
I’m currently a Third Year student taking up Journalism. Who knows if I might end up behind headphones in a call center. My ambition actually is to become a freelance writer/photographer. Nothing beats the idea of a new adventure everyday and not be stuck to an 8-hour routine.
My social tendencies are being able to blend in like Vanilla ice cream yet also able to stick out like a sore thumb. I may appreciate anything contemporary yet my interests are mainly non-conforming. I prefer a few hand-picked close friends than a big basket of acquaintances.
I believe I suffer from a Borderline Personality Disorder. My mood swings make a roller coaster look tame. One day I feel depressed, and the following day I’m suddenly hyper and uncontrollable. I sometimes can control my emotions and sometimes I can’t.
Overall I’m just a one-of-a-kind, struggling good girl who is loved by a few special ones, liked by friends, neutral to the public, disliked by the crowds and an outcast to society. Haters are welcome too. If a hater of mine comes across this sweet little blog, it only means I have meaning to his/her life. Ain’t that touching? Taking precious time to read my blog…
A nail that sticks out gets hammered down.

In other words, excellence breeds envy. And those who stand out are often loathed by those who are all the same.
